Public Housing Development at Yip On Factory Estate, Kowloon Bay

Project Description

The development comprises five blocks of 34-storey residential buildings which are supported by 109 number Large Diameter Bored Piles via 5 numbers of pile caps. 

Construction of foundations, ELS works and pile caps. Foundations include large diameter bored piles, while retaining structures include installation of sheet pile walls, strut and waling.

– Bored piles: (a) 109 nos., (b) diameter Ø2.8m to Ø3.0m, (c) total length ~6,700m

– ELS works: (a) Installation of sheet pile, strut & waling (b) total weight ~2,500 tons.

– Pile Caps: (a) Concrete ~ 30,000m3 (b) Reinforcement ~10,000 tons.

– Pile Removal: (a) abandoned H-pile removal ~ 100 nos

The scope of the foundation works includes the installation of 109 nos Large Diameter Bored Piles with bellout in diameter of Ø2.8m, Ø3.0m & Ø3.3m, excavation lateral support (ELS) works, pile cap construction and removal of abandoned H piles.
