Project Description
Kowloon station is on the Tung Chung line and the Airport Express. It is one of the two Airport Express stations providing in-town check-in services for passengers departing from Hong Kong International Airport.
The station is connected via footbridges to Austin on the Tuen Ma line, which is also connected to West Kowloon Terminus of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link Hong Kong section. There are escalators link the landmark shopping mall Elements directly with the station concourse.
Scope of Works
Deep compaction of sand fill by vibroflotation method, and construction of barrettes as foundations and diaphragm walls as retaining structures. The works also include slurry walls for water cut-off and performing a loading test of barrette with test load of 3,000 tons.

– Barrettes: (a) 79 nos., (b) length 2.8m, (c) 1.2m & 1.5m thick, (d) depth 40m to 90m, (e) excavation area 14,611m2
– Diaphragm walls: (a) 93m long, (b) 1.2m thick, (c) average depth 50m, (d) excavation area 4,978m2
– Slurry walls: (a) 295m long, (b) 0.8m thick, (c) depth 21m to 31m, (d) excavation area 7,487m2
– Loading test: (a) 1 no.
