Project Description
Aberdeen Tunnel is a two-tube tunnel with total length of 1.9 kilometres linking Happy Valley and Wong Chuk Hang near Aberdeen on the Hong Kong Island. It shortens the travel time between Wong Chuk Hang and Causeway Bay. The tunnel connects the Wong Chuk Hang Road and Canal Road Flyover and the toll plaza is at the Wong Chuk Hang end.
Aberdeen Tunnel is also part of Route 1 which links the south side of Hong Kong Island to Shatin and onwards to Sheung Shui.
Scope of Works
Slope stabilization by drainage and injection grouting method for construction of Aberdeen Tunnel.
– Sub-horizontal drains: (a) installed length 3,200m
– Injection grouting: (a) grout hole drilled length 50,000m, (b) grout volume 13,000m3
